Nakon što je Uredništvo zaprimilo rukopis i utvrdilo da rukopis ispunjava formalne elemente za objavu, poslat će rukopis u recenzentski postupak tzv. “dvostruko slijepog (anonimnog)“ tipa . Recenzentski postupak uključuje obvezno slanje autorovog anonimiziranog rukopisa najmanje dvama recenzentima (stručnjacima za temu predloženog rukopisa) koje analiziraju rukopis neovisno jedan o drugome i njihov identitet je međusobno nepoznat u postupku procjene rukopisa. Autor rukopisa ne zna identitet recenzenata. Prikazi knjiga, znanstvenih skupova, osvrti i ocjene ne podliježu recenziji.
Recenzenti ne mogu biti iz iste institucije kao i autor rukopisa.
Na prijedlog recenzenata pozitivno ocijenjeni rukopis se svrstava u jednu od sljedećih kategorija:
a) Izvorni znanstveni rad – sadržava nove, još neobjavljene rezultate znanstvenih istraživanja;
b) Prethodno znanstveno priopćenje – znanstveni rad koji sadržava nove rezultate istraživanja u nekome znanstvenom predmetu ili problemu koji zahtijevaju brzo objavljivanje.
c) Pregledni znanstveni rad – sažet i cjelovit kritički prikaz područja istraživanja ili njegova dijela bez značajnije izvornosti;
d) Stručni rad – sadrži korisne priloge iz struke i za struku. Nije vezan uz izvorno istraživanje i nema obilježja znanstvenosti, već daje prijedloge za primjenu rezultata prethodnih znanstvenih istraživanja i nastoji izvorno riješiti bitan praktični problem.
U slučaju da recenzenti nisu suglasni u pogledu ocjene, odnosno kategorizacije rada kao znanstvenog, traži se treća ocjena recenzenta izvan institucije autora. Konačnu odluku o kategorizaciji rukopisa donosi Uredništvo, vodeći se prvenstveno ocjenama recenzenata. Objavljuju se samo kategorizirani radovi koji imaju najmanje dvije pozitivne recenzije. Ukoliko članak nije prihvaćen Uredništvo autoru šalje obavijest.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
After the Editorial Board has received the manuscript and determined that the manuscript meets the formal elements for publication, it will send the manuscript to a review procedure of the so-called „double blind (anonymous) peer-review “. The review procedure includes the mandatory sending of the author’s anonymized manuscript to at least two reviewers (experts in the subject of the proposed manuscript) who analyze the manuscript independently of each other and whose identities are mutually unknown during the manuscript evaluation process. The author of the manuscript does not know the identity of the reviewers. Book reviews, scientific conferences, reviews and evaluations are not subject to review.
Reviewers cannot be from the same institution as the author of the manuscript.
At the proposal of the reviewers, a positively evaluated manuscript is classified into one of the following categories:
a) Original scientific paper – contains new, unpublished results of scientific research.
b) Preliminary communication – a scientific paper that contains new research results in a scientific subject or problem that require publication.
c) Review article – a concise and comprehensive critical review of the field of research or part of it without significant originality.
d) Professional paper – contains useful contributions from and for the profession. It is not related to original research and does not have the characteristics of science but rather provides proposals for the application of the results of previous scientific research and seeks to solve an important practical problem in an original way.
If reviewers do not agree on the assessment, or categorization of the paper as scientific, a third assessment by a reviewer outside the author’s institution is requested. The Editorial Board, guided primarily by the reviewers’ assessments, makes the final decision on the categorization of the manuscript. Only categorized papers that have at least two positive reviews will be published. If the article is not accepted, the Editorial Board sends a notification to the author.
